MIRRORS

Welcome to your own space

Dear reader, today the holidays begin, and for many of us so does the official start of summer and the season of getting away. I see this day as a fine one to launch what I have longed for over the years - a place for women that will belong to us alone. A place that gives us our own time and space for ourselves. And I think that right now is the best moment to begin. Let me introduce you to MIRRORS LIFESTYLE, an online magazine and blog for women.

For years I have thought about how MIRRORS is more than a place you come to have your hair done or to treat yourself to some care. It is a space where time stops for an hour - and that is not something you can package into a service on a price list.

When I decided to move MIRRORS to Laurinská, many people were puzzled - the city centre, the pedestrian zone, the first floor, hidden from the eyes of the city, no shop windows onto the street. For me it was exactly what I wanted. A beautiful address and, at the same time, a space that stands in contrast to the bustle of the city. A place where no one sees you, but you see everyone, and where time moves slowly. This magazine grew from the same idea.

We live in an age that is forever telling women something. Look like this. Keep up with that. Do not grow older. Be always available, always smiling, always on the move. MIRRORS LIFESTYLE is the opposite of that noise aimed at us women. It is a space to slow down, time for yourself without the guilt of feeling you should always be doing something, always working on yourself. A place where it is normal to know that the body changes, and that this is beautiful, and that it is still yours. Where beauty is about how you feel, and about the fact that, in our eyes, it has no expiry date.

I will write about beauty and about things that seem to have nothing to do with it, yet in truth are its foundation - about calm, about relationships, about who you are once you set aside all your roles. And yes, now and then about how to look after your hair well through the summer.

I am not a journalist. I am a woman who has watched other women closely for years and who knows all that we carry. This is the place where I will share it with you - a place for all of us who know that caring for ourselves is a form of respect for ourselves. And if, as it happens, you do not know that just yet, then we will learn it together.

MIRRORS was always about women and about time for oneself. About a place where you can be simply yourself. This magazine only extends that beyond the doors of the house on Laurinská. Welcome to your own space. I am glad you are here.
